Business > Research Paper > PESTEL Analysis of Uber (All)
PESTEL Analysis PESTEL analysis is a tool that is a marketing acronym used to scan the environment. It stands for Political, Economic, Social, Technological, Environmental, and Legal factors. In ut... ilizing a PESTEL analysis in marketing, managers can make marketing decisions by gathering a wide range of information and research methodologies, while exposing new and different weaknesses and/or threats, and opportunities (Finch, 2012). In analyzing modern day advances in daily routines, I have decided to analyze Uber from more of an employment seeking point of view. Uber was created by Travis Kalanick, and Garrett Camp. According to the history found on the business’ website (https://www.uber.com/our-story/ ), the idea sprouted due to a snowy Paris evening in 2008 when both Kalanick and Garrett found themselves in the unsuccessful task of hailing a cab. This gave Kalanick and Garrett the idea to develop an application for consumers to be able to tap a button to get a ride, or taxi to get to their desired destination, and for a way for people to flexibly earn money. In 2009, it was founded as UberCab, a black-car service, which later evolved to a one touch on the smartphone taxi request that was launched in San Francisco in 2010 and became a quick hit, and then in 2011 launched in one of the busiest cities requiring taxis as a mode of transportation; New York.
