Empresa Brasileira de Aeronáutica, formally known as Embraer SA, is a Brazilian aerospace
corporation specialized in designing, developing, producing, and selling aircraft and its parts for
commercial, military, executive and agricultural uses. Founded in 1969 by the Brazilian
Government, the company began its operations in Sao Jose dos Camps, Sao Paulo, its
headquarters to this day. In 1972, the Company flew out its first turboprop passenger aircraft,
known as the EMB 110 Bandeirante, built as a multifunctional aircraft suitable for both military
and civilian purposes. Today, more upgraded versions of this aircraft are being produced,
generating a $5.1 billion in revenue as of January 16, 20191.
What was merely part of a governmental project that favored state intervention to promote
aeronautics in the country, has become a global aerospace conglomerate that provides
aeronautical services around the world. Embraer is ranked as the fourth largest commercial
aircraft manufacturer in the world, after Boeing (U.S.) Airbus (Europe) and Bombardier
(Canada)2. Every 10 seconds, an Embraer aircraft takes off somewhere in the world3. It is the
fruit of hard-working people who, over fifty years, were determined on making it a mission to
build the world’s most efficient airplanes in their category, as well as helping other airlines
increase profitability. Despite its many downsizing and restructuring strategies happened over the
years, the Company had acquired over 18,000 employees and delivered more than 8,000
