W11 Essay: Giving Voice to Your Ideas
Heavenly Father,
I come before Thee this day in humble gratitude. I wish to express thanks for the many blessings for which Thou hast bestowed upon me and upon my brethren, beginning [alliteration] with the gift of Thy son, Jesus Christ. He came into the world to do thy will. He drank the bitter cup [metaphor], taking upon himself the sins of all thy children, suffering the penalty for them all, thereby granting each imperfect person permission to pass into Thy presence [alliteration].
Thy love is like unto the wind [simile]. It covers the whole Earth and gives life to all that breath [sight rhyme].
I have learned that I must come unto thee in prayer. I must pray and perform the physical act of calling upon Thee. Thou art the only source to which I can go for succor. Thou canst remove my stain and clean my heart. Thou hast won the battle [metonymy].
Father fill me with Thy Love. Do this that I may be whole. Do that I may be the means of convincing men of Thy goodness and mercy.
Give me this day my daily bread [synechdoche]. Forgive my debts as I forgive my debtors. Lead me not into temptation; but deliver me from evil.
I humbly say and ask these things in the name of Thy Son, Jesus Christ.
