According to the National Institute on Drug Abuse more than 130 people in the Unites States die from opioids. This crisis affects people from all walks of life. The economic burden is over $78 billion a year due to treatment, healthcare, costs due to criminal involvement and addiction treatment. (NIH, 2019).
