Introduction As I stated ... in my earlier assignment, public policy can impact entrepreneurs heavily as well as the economy. Implementing initiative to stimulate and promote economic growth begins with our youth. If policymakers are able to engage youth and provide them with a “step-up” in becoming an entrepreneur or innovator then that would help the economy as well as their individual agenda in the future. I firmly believe that the easiest and most effective way to accomplish this is through their education. Important policies to incorporate through education include providing pathways within their education, encouraging hands on training as well as courses, and increasing opportunities + apprenticeships with CSR as well as business (with some government involvement). Policy Point #1: [Briefly describe your proposal] Primarily I propose to incorporate pathways programs as well as clubs and organizations that help introduce youth to the world of entrepreneurship and business. These pathways will integrate within their courses and provide specifically designed courses and curriculum that is orientated towards the field they desire to go into (in this case entrepreneurship). With this, if students don’t prefer the pathways it is important to have clubs and organizations such as DECA, which is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping youth prepare for careers in financing/management marketing etc. As far as how this will be funded, we can follow the structure of CTE programs. Though these programs are not the same they have the same general idea. The CTE programs are funded through The Perkins Act which is federal funding for high school programs.
