Drug cards must be hand written. • Trade name/Generic Name • Classification • Dosage/Route of Administration • Action and therapeutic effect of the drug: • Adverse Effects/Reactions • Nursing Implications • Lab/Diagnostic test considerations • Patient teaching considerations (include dietary considerations!) Students should show the completed “med cards” to their clinical instructor at the beginning of the clinical day for verification that s/he has completed the assignment. If a student does not complete the assignment, s/he will be unsatisfactory for the clinical day.
