Globalisation in today’s world makes the current national borders continue to diminish in the face of increasing global trade. The increase in the global trade gives the consumer a wide range of pro ... ducts they can choose. The lingering question among the marketers is whether they can use similar strategies for all the markets across the globe (Mooij, 2004). The cultural differences warrant that people do not respond in a similar manner to the same advertisement. Previous studies indicate that people react positively to advertisements that comply with their culture (Lester & Ross, 2003). For example, the Americans have a distinctly different culture to that of Arabs. That means the advertisements targeting the two groups receive varying degree of acceptance. For marketers targeting the two groups, have to understand the differences and similarities. Because of the penetration of several brands in the global market, advertisements have grown in importance overtime (Mooij, 2004). That is in order for the companies to attract new consumers to their products. The influence on the consumer choices is the sole purpose of the advertisements, and the advertisers have to design it in a proper way in order to show the best correlation withcustomer’s needs.
