Description of community and community boundaries:
The City is located in El Paso, Texas. The city has a population of 683,583 (Data USA, 2019). El
Paso is the county seat of El Paso County in West Texas. El Paso is located on the Rio Grande
just across the border from Juarez, Mexico. El Paso has an Estimated population of 683,583,
which makes it the 19th most populous city in the U.S.
El Paso Demographics:
Hispanic: 81.4%%
Black or African American: 3.4%
Asians (alone) 1.31%
Other Race (alone): 0.06%
White (alone): 12.6%
Native American: 0.275%

Other Pacific Islander: 0.07%
Value/Belief Pattern:
The Predominate ethnic and cultural group here in El Paso, Texas is that of Hispanic Origin with
strong ties tied to the Catholic Religion. 80.8% of the population of El Paso, TX has health
coverage, with 35.2% on employee plans, 21% on Medicaid, 6.93% on Medicare, 11.7% on nongroup plans, and 6.03% on military or VA plans. Per capita personal health care spending in the
place of El Paso, TX was $6,998 in 2014. This is a 5.06% increase from the previous year
($6,661). Patient to primary Care Physician ratio is 1,670:1. This represents a 0.12% decrease
from the previous year (1,672 patients). This ethnic group share a strong heritage that includes
family and religion, each subgroup of the Hispanic population has distinct cultural beliefs and
customs. It is uncommon for Hispanics to be aggressive or assertive in health care interactions.

67.01% of the population.
Currently people 25+ that have a high school degree sits at 79.0% (Town Charts, 2019)
People ages 25 years or older who either have no schooling or dropped out of school
before completing high school in El Paso city sits at 21% percent who dropped out of
school.
The number of people aged 25 years or older who have graduated from college with a
Bachelor's degree in El Paso city-TX shows it has 24% percent with a bachelor’s degree
or higher
The highest rate of high school graduation is among islander people with a rate of
97.57%.
The highest rate of bachelor’s degrees is among Asian people with a rate of 52.98%.
