Company Identification The company’s name is Edu Tech. It is primarily set out to produce the most user-friendly hardware and software resources for the education sector. Edu Tech is based at 1004... Payton Ln, Euless, TX, USA. It is five rooms home with a kitchen and a sitting room, a cozy place where awareness and demo sessions could be conveniently held. Mission of the company To provide the best IT software resources for the educational institutions all over the USA that ranging from ideal consultancy to use of smart boards while delivering lecture in the class. Explanation The education sector is incomplete without the use of IT. The world shall never stop and so the following two field’s technology and education would too never stop to grow, develop and shall continue to get richer. Each day technology has something new to emerge with and so the company aims to capture such a market share; furthermore, it has a blend of individual entrepreneurs to corporate clients who not only consider Edu Tech as the most reliable, but dependable as well when it comes to integration of education and IT. Edu Tech Business Plan 5 Business Goals The Business has following goals to achieve in the first calendar year after the launch and commencement of business: To apply for a grant out of the government’s reform, Global Partnership for education Program, so that goods and services could be provided at a lower price initially for marketing of the business. To attract at least two not-for-profit clients in this sector. Keys to Success Since the company founder Manoj Adhikari himself being an IT student and more importantly, a student of Business Management Information System. He has an idea of how the fields can be integrated as a business to run successfully. Moreover, he got the real-time IT software development experience; furthermore, train-instructor based on his experience and knowledge and tutor for more than 5 years of life, therefore, he has the advantage of knowing how a teacher or a professor or an administrator feels when it comes to use of IT resources in teaching. Furthermore, he also has quick links to the known industry leaders in education, which can be turned into long-term regular clients. The other definable success factor for Edu Tech would be to keep its employees are extensively aware of the changing needs of the sector and how IT could help fulfil those needs. They would be specifically trained for the sales skills and how only walking and talking could they advertise the products. Edu Tech Business Plan 6 Company Summary Industry History Mainly, it was the years 2008 to 2011 when the IT resources started to apply in the education field. Different governments started with research based servers for centralization of student information, based on population, demographics etc. many public schools in US are managed by advanced software resources now and worldwide, these software resources are used to keep track of online programs sources etc. regions like Jamaica, Caribbean and Latin American states began in the year 1993, to integrate their educational systems with IT and then number of governments started using these software resources. However, there aren’t many competitors in this field and market penetration and market expansion are easy to achieve objectives (Cassidy, 2016). Legal Form of Ownership In the beginning, the business would be run as a sole-proprietorship, with only one employee who would be responsible for software development etc. timely, a content developer on freelance basis could be hired who would be paid per article. Currently, the property is owned by the founder. For the first calendar year of 2017 business will lunch on this location and after the end of year 2017, founder shall either receive money from the partners decreasing his share of capital or they would together rent a different workplace in Dallas/Fort Worth area. This plan and place is suitable for the beginning as there would be no other rent expenses. 5 computers have been set up with broadband internet access, headphones and telephone sets. One computer has been set up at the home office room which is on the first floor of the house and it is 121 square foot. There is a multifunction’s printer set up in the office room and all five computers are WiFi connected into the printer. Two computers in each room upstairs has been set up with the speakers and headsets and each are 154 square foot. Entire computers and the printers have been connected to the internet via AT&T business internet. The company business phone line run through Magicjack and its device uses Voice over Internet Protocol (“VoIP”). Company will have its business domain name www.Edutechsoloutions.com . All the necessary application to run the business in the State of Texas has been processed and application for the domain name has been granted from the Tarrant county where business is located. Separate license from the city is not required to operate the business if business is registered with the Secretary of the State of Texas. Management Structure Edu Tech Business Plan 8 The management structure would be very simple. There will not be several departments since it is a sole-proprietorship. For the first calendar year of the business, the owner would manage and supervise the functions of the employees himself. Owner will do the entire market search on the competitive products that’s need to developed and will with a software developer who would revise the software as per the market and client’s individual needs. Owner has already built a prototype of the product to present to the end user’s. The owner will perform the entire marketing and networking task via different methodology to market EDU Software. Good point on here is that founder already has several contacts with some educational institutions to show the demo of the prototype. Founder Manoj will introduce the EDU Tech software’s among the end users in the market. In the beginning the owner is going to be the principle and an engineer in the company to build the product and will perform all the administrative and technical work with business contracts and clients. Founder will follow Agile Scrum methodology to develop the produces and it is simple and fast way where end users can have vision of their needs on the product that will go through different SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) phases. After meeting the goal of the business in the first year and generating the revenue, founder Manoj will consider to create some roles and add new employees based on his business needs. Products and Services: Edu Tech has anticipated providing the following products and services to the potential clients: Edu Tech Business Plan 9 Education Consultancy: Edu Tech has planned to provide IT consultancy in the education sector. All clients are not always ready with a plan of action. They need assistance in terms of server sizes, and most of their queries are based on technical issues, which if resolved, they are ready to integrate their systems with IT resources. For such clients, Edu Tech shall not only get a plan ready, but would also help those institutions set up the system and provide after-sales service in terms of bi-annual evaluation. Student Information System: The Company has the software idea ready. Once when it begins with its operations, the software would be coded digitally and become ready to be sold within a month after the commencement of business. Most importantly, the software has several parts, which could be taken off or added as extra tools, for the clients willing to pay higher. This information system would be user friendly, and would consist of several options for research reports getting ready. Once the data are regularly entered, it would generate the statistical results and reports on its own, through which the institutes can as well assess their own performance in several different ways. Incident Management: It would keep record of any incidents in the IT systems overall, and would prepare crash reports or potential risk reports prior to it would have happened or could happen. Along with that, this part of the product would also provide disaster recovery sites if some incident would have taken place. Edu Tech Business Plan 10 Data Portal: In this data portal, clients, employees and their customers would register their own data. Meeting schedules, assessment schedules etc. would be shared here. Parents could login to see their child’s progress in curricular, co-curricular and extracurricular activities. Moreover, they could check the due dates of tuition and other fees etc. as well as coming events of the educational institutions. Appointment with school heads could be set with this data portal and most importantly, it would be very easy to manage for the educational institutes. These websites could be of great use when it comes to uploading notes, photographs, admission criteria etc. IT server outsourcing facilities: Different Educational institutes don’t hire network system administrators or database operators; hence, they can outsource their data servers and with a team of collaborative members from those institutions, their server rooms could be outsourced and taken into use per their needs.
