Litigation Support Tip of the Night
Who associates a user to group? - ANS - A admin associates a user to a group, and then a
workspace.
What are the maximum number of characters in a password? - ANS - 50 characters.
What is a Workspace ? - ANS - Workspaces within Relativity are typically document
repositories used to store, display, search, organize, and categorize documents related to a
specific client.
What is a User ? - ANS - Users are individuals who have access to the Relativity environment.
What is a Group ? - ANS - Relativity users are organized by groups and may be associated with
more than one at a time. Groups are added to Relativity workspaces and access permissions may
vary from workspace to workspace.
What is a Document ? - ANS - A document is a record within a Relativity workspace.
What is a Field ? - ANS - Fields are used to store document metadata or coding information
within Relativity.
What is a Choice ? - ANS - Choices are predetermined values that are applied to Single and
Multi-Choice List fields.
What is a Views ? - ANS - Views are customizable lists of items within Relativity. For example,
a list of documents is controlled by a view.
What is a Layout ? - ANS - Layouts are web-based coding forms where users can view and edit
Document field values.
What is a Batch ? - ANS - A static set of documents split into multiple document sets based on
admin-set criteria
How can Yes/No fields be displayed? - ANS - On layouts as drop-down menus, radio buttons, or
checkboxes.
What are the three possible values of a Yes/No field? - ANS - Yes/No field displays in one
of three possible states: Yes, No, or Null.
• Yes: Box is checked.
• No: Box is unchecked.
• Null: Box is filled in with a shaded blue square
What are the best ways to display single and multi choice fields? - ANS - It's best to display a
single choice field as a radio button list, and a multiple choice field as a checkbox list
in the case of a long list of choices, both can appear as a pop-up picker.
How is a required field marked? - ANS - A required field is marked by the orange line to the
right of the field name.
What happens if a child choice is selected? - ANS - Choices can be nested. If a choice is nested
and the child choice is selected, the parent choice is automatically selected.
What is the review batches tab and what five fields can you view there? - ANS - The Review
Batches tab contains all the batches you can access. After clicking on the Review Batches tab,
you also see important information about your batches, such
as the batch name, batch status, who it's assigned to, the batch size, and if it has been reviewed.
How can you move the browser to the opposite side of the document list? - ANS - Using the
stacked
dots icon at the upper left, you can move the browser to the opposite side of the document list.
You can also resize the document browser width as you would any
other window by dragging the edge separating the document list from the folder browser.
What types of widgets are available? - ANS - Pivot widgets (bar graph, stacked bar graph, pie
chart, line chart, or table.
Cluster widget
How many cluster widgets can be on a dashboard? - ANS - Only one cluster visualization widget
can be added to a dashboard at a time.
How do you access clusters in Relativity - ANS - Click Cluster icon on the Documents tab to
open the Cluster browser.
Where will a cluster widget default to? - ANS - The cluster visualization widget displays on your
Dashboard and defaults to the first level of clusters that exist under the cluster you selected .
Note: If you select a new first level cluster from the Cluster browser, the widget refreshes and the
title of the widget is updated to reflect your new cluster selection. If you select a new subcluster,
the widget refreshes to display the relevant heat mapping. With any change in cluster selection in
the Cluster browser, any cluster filters that have been created from selecting clusters are
discarded from the search panel.
Where do you visualize clusters? - ANS -
What are the two types of cluster visualizations? - ANS - Circle pack and nearby clusters.
What will adjusting the depth of a circle pack do? - ANS - The depth of a circle pack can be
increased in order to show subclusters. (There are lower level clusters inside subclusters).
What caption appears when you hover over a cluster in a circle pack visualization? - ANS -
Hovering over a cluster will bring up a caption showing matching documents (those within the
criteria of a filter or view for the cluster visualization - [conversely - the Document Breakdown
pie chart in the corner shows the percentage of listed documents that are found in the visualized
cluster set and percentage of listed documents that are not in the visualized cluster set] ); the total
number of documents; the number of subclusters; and a coherence score.
In a nearby cluster, a similarity score will also be shown.
What does a coherence score for a circle pack indicate? - ANS - The coherence score indicates
how closely related the documents in the cluster are to each other.
What are nearby cluster visualizations and how are they accessed? - ANS - The nearby cluster
visualization will display clusters radiating out from a single cluster that you select. The more
similar the cluster, the closer it is to the select central cluster. Nearby cluster visualization is
accessed by right clicking on any cluster in a circle pack. In the nearby clusters, hovering over
any one circle will not only show the same details listed in the circle pack visualization, but also
give a similarity score - how close the selected circle is to the main central circle on which the
visualization is based.
What is heat mapping? - ANS - Apply filters or a view to a cluster visualization will apply 'heat
map' shading to the visualization. The circles of the visualization will be colored in shades from
dark to light blue in order to show which have more of the terms of the filter.
What is the purpose of the 'Highlight Matches' box in nearby cluster visualizations? - ANS - If
there are very few hits in the visualization, you can check off 'Highlight Matches' , and the
circles which contain any 'hits' will turn orange.
What is the search panel in the User Interface? - ANS - Using the search panel, you can build
complex searches using drag-and-drop functionality. You can set conditions and then drag and
drop them into logic groups,
which act as visual parentheses for your search query. This functionality is also available from
the search builder when you create a saved search from the Documents
tab or from the Advanced & Saved Searches browser.
