Running head: 5-2 SCENARIO ASSIGNMENT 5-2 Assignment: Incident Response Plan SNHU IT522-X5230 Human Factors in Security 1 Running head: 5-2 SCENARIO ASSIGNMENT Introduction An Incident Respon... se Plan (IRP) has been crafted as a guideline to MUSA for handling potential incidents. An incident response plan “usually includes instructions on how to respond to potential attack scenarios, including breaches, denial of service/distributed denial of service attacks, network intrusions, virus, worms, or malware outbreaks or insider threats”[IRP]. The IRP will provide MUSA employees, interns, vendors and the security team directions on how to handle a security incident. A security incident is defined as “a warning that there might be a threat to information or computer security. The warning could also be that a threat that has already occurred. Threats or violations can be identified by unauthorized access to a system. A computer security incident is a threat to policies that are related to computer security”[Security_Incident]. Executive Summary Cybersecurity related attacks are happening more often and frequently, especially with technology quickly evolving.
