CO 1. Incorporate education theories and models in developing the master's-prepared nurse educator role essential to performing as educators and advocates of holistic, safe, and quality care (PO1). During this course I will be exploring theories like Cognitivism, Behaviorism and Constructivism to find which theory would be best for my future education role. At the start of this course, I feel Constructivism theories will be the most beneficial as I begin to prepare as a nurse educator.
Throughout this course I will complete this outcome by using these theories in my course discussions and
assignments.
CO 2 – Explore instructional strategies reflective of educational theory and evidence- based practice to support person centered care (PO 5). During this course I will explore the instructional strategies that reflect educational theory. assignments.
CO 3. Examine unique learning styles and needs of culturally diverse learners to foster acquisition of knowledge and skill (PO 1, 3) During this course I will examine the different learning styles and needs that I can use while interacting with culturally diverse learners. learning style concepts
that are related to cultural diversity when completing the discussion and collaboration café
assignments.
CO 4. Explore a variety of instructional strategies appropriate to content, setting, learners' needs, and desired outcomes (PO 3, 4). In this course I will be exploring the variety of teaching strategies through the discussions and reading assignments. I will also acquire information through nursing journals and peer- reviewed articles that are current and have
evidence-based practices for nursing educators. I will meet this outcome by providing this information in the discussions and
feedback submissions.
