Yes, pneumococcal vaccine helps prevent pneumococcal disease. It protects againts numerous types of pneumococcal bacteria that most commonly cause serious infections. It can also help prevent ear infections and pneumonia cause by these bacteria. We recommended Pneumococcal conjugate vaccine or PCV13 for people 2 years or older with certain medical conditions such chronic lung disease including COPD. Educa 08:23 PM ED That's good to know.
