Why was it better that Papa started the fire rather than going to try to stop the mob himself? -
✔✔The quotation marks night man quotation marks were very upset and already had threatened
to find Mr. Morrison and Papa. It was better to start the fire to distract them in without getting
directly involved.
Why did big Ma make Cassie apologize to Lillian Jean in Strawberry? How did the apology
make Cassie "grow up" as Mamma stated in the book. - ✔✔She didn't want Cassie to be hurt by
Mr. Simmons and she knew Cassie wouldn't back down. Mama said she had to grow up because
she had to follow the "expectations" of white folks and showing respect even though they didn't
deserve it.
Why did the Logans go to Vicksberg to shop? How were they "punished" for shopping there. -
✔✔They went to shop there so they didn't have to go to the Wallace store. They were punished
by mama getting fired from her teaching job.

the cotton is how they help to pay the mortgage for the land.

✔✔He was a white kid that walked to school with the Logan kids each day, despite being beaten
over it several times. Even though Papa felt it was possible for them to be friends, he was
worried that when they got older it would be a bad idea and have a consequence.
How did mr Morrison show he was courageous and not afraid of Kaleb Wallace. - ✔✔He fought
back again spend the night coming back from Vicksburg, and he picked up his truck and moved
it out of his way to protect the Logankids.

children feel "responsible" for the night men coming? - ✔✔Big Ma grabbed a rifle from under
the bed. The children were afraid the men were there because of what they had done to the
school bus.

finally get revenge? - ✔✔The bus chases them each day and splashes water on them, getting
them dirty and wet. They get revenge by digging a hole in the mud and filling it with water, so
the bus falls in and brakes and axle.

attention and he is trying to make the Logan kids jealous.
