The society hosts speaker conferences where women from a range of backgrounds are invited to present to students of the University and inspire them with their future careers. It also hosts a variety of networking events which hold the aim of encouraging the formation of relationships between University students and professional individuals from the wider community. The group also run a blog which features inspirational women from a range of industries who share their stories and the challenges in which they’ve faced in their careers. More recently, it has introduced mentoring schemes and work experience between students of the University and local businesses within Lincoln. I founded Women in Work as a society in my final year of University and I have now decided that the time is right to transform the society into a business. My aspiration for Women in Work is to create a network that supports women and their careers at all levels, whether that be as a student, entrepreneur or business employee. The target market for Women in Work would be individuals within the age bracket of 18-50. The target market would be both male and female, although the majority of interest is likely to come from a female audience. Individuals will be able to purchase a membership which will grant them exclusive access to: - Quarterly newsletters - Online based webinars - Free tickets to Women in Work speaker conferences and networking events - Student mentoring schemes / work experience opportunities There is nothing similar to what Women in Work offers within the Lincolnshire area and main competitors are located in London, presenting a niche market in which to operate within. The business will operate through an online platform and present heavy emphasis on strategic marketing through various social media outlets. [Show More]
