Describe the advantages of using digital signals instead of analog
signals to transmit information.
Digital signals are cheaper, easier to design, and more reliable than
analog.
1. Describe the importance and reliability of systems that use digital
signals to store information. (Include the advantages of storing
information digitally, as opposed to physical copies.)
These signals are more reliable and consistent. It would take a large
problem in the frequency or amplitude in order for it to jump values.
1. Describe three instances of digital transmission and storage in your
everyday life. Be sure to explain how you know data transmission or
storage is occurring in each instance.
Dialog and analog signals are used everyday around our house and in our
daily lives. We use them in things such as computers, cell phones, and
radios.
1. Explain how radio waves and digital signals will store and transmit
this assignment to your instructor.
Radio waves will let off the signals and digital waves will transmit over
transmission lines to the instructors computer.
1. Describe how wave behavior and interactions can affect the quality
of a signal received by a mobile device.
The waves can undergo reflection, refraction, and interferences that
tamper with the quality.
1. A medical office is planning to convert to an electronic database to
store patient information. What are the pros and cons to making
changes in this form of storage of personal medical information
instead of written physical files? Provide evidence based on your
knowledge of digital storage to support your reasoning.
Some pros for this would be that it is convenient, easy to access and easy
to transfer information. Some cons would be that it would be easy to
tamper with the information, risk hackers and viruses, and you risk the
unpredictability of electronics.
