One similarity is both Samurai and knights swore An oath of ... loyalty to Noble Lords and fought to defend them. Another similarity is they both live by a code of honor. Even though they do have share quite a few similarities they do have their differences. For instance samurai’s are 4th in the social class and knights are 5th and being a samurai is hereditary unlike knights. There are a bountiful similarities between samurais and knights. Both warriors swore an oath of loyalty to nobles and fought to defend for land and food. In the background essay its states” these nobles trained Warriors who, in exchange for farmland or food and lodging, swore to be loyal to Nobles and defend them”. Samurais and knights had to go through training in early childhood before they could officially become warriors and fight. In document C it states “ The rigorous training ( of samurai) … began in childhood..”. In document C i also states “ A prospective knight’s training [began at age four or five]..” . samurai and knight also had comparable armor they both had heavy iron plates and helmets that covered their entire face. There are a plethora of similarities between samurai and knights.For instance they both have to live by a code of honor which they have the utmost respect for. It states in document E that “ Both Japanese samurai and European knights were expected to abide by a code of honor.” The code of honor for samurai (Bushido) and the code of honor for knights (Chivalry) are relatively similar. They both state that they are loyal to their masters or king and they have treat their families and women with respect. In document E ( The Code of Bushido) it states “ The samurai consists...in discharging loyal service to his master.” its also states in document E ( The Code of Chivalry) “each knight took the vows of true knighthood,.. To be loyal to the King..” . Although there is a great deal of similarities between samurais and knights there are some differences to.
