Example: I tried to help you, but you chose not to listen. c. Complex: 1 independent clause & 1 dependent clause i. WATCH OUT: Make sure that introductory clauses get commas. ii. Example: I trust you because you keep my secrets. d. Compound-Complex: At least 2 independent clauses & 1 dependent clause i. WATCH OUT: Don’t just label it C-C because it looks long. ii.
