Fake News Causes Real Problems The problem of fake news has become an epidemic over the past years. With the internet and various social medias, fake news can travel like a virus jumping from person... to person. This virus can spread throughout the world in a matter of minutes. The average person doesn’t do the research on whether the news that they read is real or not. They will read it, be surprised and immediately want to retweet it or share it, which causes the news to spread. Most students don’t know how to decide whether a news story is fake or real. These students weren’t taught how to search through the articles and pick apart all of the incorrect or inaccurate information to deduce which is a fake article or not. If these students aren’t properly taught how to pick which news source is fake or real, it will cause a generation of humans incapable of distinguishing fake news from real news. This will give the media immense power over the human’s lives because they will just believe everything the media says without questioning it. The future of the human race looks dim if the next generation doesn’t learn how to decipher which news source is fake or real. Learning to know which news sources are real or fake is a serious topic because fake news sources can cause people to act irrationally and make less intelligent actions.
