Introduction As long as humanity exists, it has always strived to achieve the goal of perfection. As simple-minded as we are, we tend to search for more profound meaning and come up with idealistic... models. It is not without the exclusion that a similar ideology manifested, and philosophers keep up discussing the models of the ideal society. What is the ideal? What is perfectness? What is good or evil in the context of society's existence? Those are the questions that many philosophers observed and discussed. The following discussion will be built around the analysis of Plato's philosophy in The Republic and how it applies to the society I am living in. The Republic or the ideal of inhuman The general idea of Plato's "The Republic" work is a discussion of two extremes. The extreme of total control and intoxicating freedom. The concepts discussed in his work can be characterized as inhuman as they promote ideas of chauvinism, intolerance, slavery absolute power of the state with the society focused on the "good" and well-being of the City. In his model, we can observe that family is nothing more than the source to breed the population and then give off the offspring to fulfill their duty to develop and sustain the "City". The human being's sole existence is dedicated to the "City." If the one deemed to be a burden, it is without mercy that the individual will be removed from society as soon as possible. It is through the idea that citizens serve and live for the good of the "City". There is no room for happiness or hedonistic ideas. Freedom is treated as a dangerous substance that can easily dissolve and deteriorate the "City" harming its existence.
