man. The aspect of suspense hinted towards when Mr. Hyde a man who is held in high regard
by many is accused of trampling the young girl
The Boarded Window - Irony: The ribbon with which he had bound the wrists was broken; the
hands were tightly clenched. Between the teeth was a fragment of the animal's ear. We
expected Murlock’s wife to be dead in the beginning. This means that Murlock’s wife regained
consciousness and put up a fight with the panther. Mr. Murlock mistakenly believes his wife is
dead, only to find out at the end of the story that she didn’t die and that Murlock could have
saved her life when the panther attacked.
Symbolism: the boarded window represents Murlock’s connection to the rest of the world living
an isolated life
Roosevelt’s "Four Freedoms" speech – Straight forward with his ideas, he addresses his group
as a whole using words that direct his speech to each person individually using call to action
talks about standing up and fighting together as a country to make it a better place. Speak for
the people in the future. Everyone will always want to live without fear
