The purpose of this paper is to discuss ethical principles in the event of triaging within the context of SARS-CoV-2 (also known as the COVID-19 virus) pandemic. This pandemic has been challenging to health systems around the world, to the point of creating a correlation between the levels of interruption of non-contagious diseases treatment services and the evolution of the COVID-19 (World Health Organization, 2020). The health sector was severely impacted by this outbreak, given its quickly worldwide spread, shortage of PPD, shortage of ventilators, and lack of knowledge about the virus. This pandemic resulted in lack of preparation for many health care facilities to provide care for all the patients that were infected with COVID-19 and needed medical care. (Ivanov, 2020). As a result of these issues, immediate reactions and decisions were taken in the public health sector based on public health principles in order to better serve the population and the healthcare systems.
