Week 2 Peer-graded Assignment: Activity: Define and determine SMART project goals Question: Office Green, LLC, is a commercial landscaping company that specializes in plant decor for offices and other businesses. One of their business-wide goals for the year is to increase revenue by expanding their product line. Another business-wide goal is to retain a majority of their existing customer base. To help meet these goals, the company is getting ready to introduce its new Plant Pals service, which will provide top customers with small, low maintenance plants for their desks. You are the project manager assigned to manage the Plant Pals launch. Before starting the project, you need to turn Office Green’s business-wide goals into SMART goals. This process will help you determine how Plant Pals will contribute to the business-wide goals. You can use the following information to create SMART goals:  The Vice President of Product expects Plant Pals to be able to bring in an additional 5% overall revenue for the company.  Customer retention was 80% for Office Green last year, but the CEO wants to see that number rise by at least 5% this year.  The Vice President of Customer Service expects Office Green to achieve over a 90% customer satisfaction rating, which is a slight increase over last year. The company has maintained a steady satisfaction rating of 85%-90% over the last five years.  The marketing department will promote the new service with a website redesign that includes new landing pages with Plant Pals product descriptions, and a print catalog.  The project is scheduled to launch by the end of the second quarter. The project team will continue to collect data on the project’s progress throughout the third and fourth quarters. At the end of the fourth quarter stakeholders will assess how well the project has met its goals. Tips: The template contains the two business-wide goals related to the Plant Pals project. Neither meets all of the SMART criteria. Use the information from the scenario above to turn these goals into SMART goals. Write them next to SMART Goal One and SMART Goal Two. Your goals should be complete, but brief—one or two sentences is enough. For example, here is an example of a goal that’s missing some of the SMART criteria
