As per you’re your request to investigate the seemingly high turnover rate that seems to be occurring in our business consultant section, both myself and the manager of recruitment and staffing have conducted a review of the issue. After holding focus group meetings with the business consultant staff that have been with ABC Inc. for under a year, interview with their mangers and going over exit interviews of consultants who have recently left we have come to the conclusion that the main cause of the high turnover rate is our onboarding program with new hires. We have an excellent recruitment program. Using the case of a recent hire, Jill, we allow our consultants more opportunities to shine, we have an excellent record of fast-tracking promotions, our salaries are higher and our performance based bonus program is excellent. And while we can attract new hires we fall way short when it comes to the onboarding of our new hires. If new hires do not feel like they are a part of the team then the packages we use to attract new hires to ABC Inc. will not be enough to keep them on board. Once again, using the example of Ms. Jill, she was never given the impression that she was a welcome addition to ABC Inc. Ms. Jill’s first line manager was not able to greet her upon her arrival, she mentioned that her computer system was not ready for her to begin work, she was given a slew of papers to fill out without an explanation, she had to wait longer than usual to receive access to the intranet databases she needs to accomplish her tasks.
