While there are benefits of breast feeding, the child still would be lacking vitamin D due to its low count in breast milk, which is when a powdered substitute helps. When it comes to children and energy, infants require approximately 116 calories per kilogram for the initial three months and on an average, 100 calories per kilogram for the rest of the first year.
