NR 661 Week 7 ASSIGNMENT; ONGROUND INTENSIVE REVIEW - DOWNLOAD TO PASS

Document Content and Description Below

Intensive Review Summary I can truly say I was very reluctant about planning a trip to Chicago for the intensive review. Once I got to Chicago and went through day 1 of the review, I was amazed and... thankful that I went for the review. The presentation by Amelie Hollier, was well structured, well simplified and easy to understand. Most of the review was information that we have covered over the two years in the FNP program. The review helped to refresh my memory and also helped me to get a better understanding of some areas that I had some difficulties. The presentations were similar to the APEA videos presentations for this course. Having the presentation done life helped me to get a better understanding of the areas I missed watching the videos. Two areas of highlights The first area of highlight for me during the intense review was when Amelie did the presentation on approach to the exam. Through this presentation, I learned some valuable test- taking skills that I had been missing during exams. I learn how to effectively focus on relevant facts, keywords and disregard irrelevant facts during test taking. This area was important to me because I tend to leave out relevant facts and keywords when answering questions and many at times I would answer the questions incorrectly. The second area of the highlight was heart murmurs. I have been having issues differentiating the heart murmurs. Amelie was very efficient in explaining how to listen and differentiate murmurs, how to determine what kind of murmur from the spot where the murmur is heard the loudest, how to determine if a murmur is systolic or diastolic and any associated findings. The way she explained it was so distinct and that gave me a better understanding of assessing murmurs. To conclude, I can honestly say that the intensive review was precisely what I needed at this time that I am looking forward to finishing the FNP program at Chamberlain and preparing to take the national certification exam. Attending the intensive review has help me focus more on specific topics that I am weaker in. The intensive review had given me an overview of what areas to study and to be proficient, incorporating all body systems and domains. While I continue to study and review material from the intensive review, I am assured that I will acquire knowledge and understanding that will enable me to pass the national certification exam the first time I sit for the exams.
