Physics > Lab Report > PHY 2048Lexperiment 2 physics Acceleration due to gravity full lab report (All)
Purpose: The purpose of this experiment is to measure the acceleration of a falling object assuming that the only force acting on the object is the gravitational force. Theory: The theory behind thi... s experiment is that two objects with different sizes and masses will be dropped from five different heights to the ground to determine if the object is free falling. The free falling can be described by this equation: h = ½ g t^2 where h is the distance the object has fallen from a starting point, g is the acceleration due to gravity, and t is the time elapse since the motion began. Experimental Method: To do this experiment, we used a free fall adapter, one big and a small steel balls, a balance , a meterstick, a PASCO interface and a computer to measure our data. To collect our data, we did 3 trial with each ball. [Show More]
