engineering lab report (2). Thermal Energy and Chemical Change Lab Report endothermic and exothermic energy.

Document Content and Description Below

Define the Problem: The goal of this activity is creating the train which will reach finish line using both endothermic and exothermic energy. Criteria and Limitations: In this section, please l... ist at least three criteria that must be met by your train design. Also include any limitations that could prevent it from getting its cargo to the station. Criteria Limitations I need balloons to lift the train If I don`t put steam engine the train will not move at all. I need at least steam engine to move the train. If I don`t add springs I will not be able to get my cargo to the destination. I have to put all cargo and panda on the train Different types of hills and missing track. Design Ideas—Pros and Cons: In this section, describe three design ideas you have for your train. List at least one pro (a positive) and one con (a negative) for each design option. Description of Train Design Pro Con Train One Made with steam engine, two springs. The cargo and panda were added. Steam engine moves train Needs coal to run the engine. Train Two Made with steam engine, evaporating engine, two springs. The cargo and panda were added. Evaporating coolers helps make the train go 20% faster Needs water to run the engine. Train Three Made with steam engine, woodburning engine and two springs. The cargo and panda were added Adding wood burning engine helps make the train go 30% faster Needs wood to run the engine. Data: Record the results of each of the test runs you make to the train station. Be sure to describe any changes you make to your train between each test run. Train One Train Two Train Three Test Results? Any redesign? Test Results? Any redesign? Test Results? Track One The train gets down and slowly goes through the last hill Adding evaporating engine increased the speed by 20% percent. Adding wood burning engine to the steam engine increased the speed by 30% and made the train jumpier. Although the train made to destination. Track Two Adding just one set of balloons at the back of the train cause crash. Adding balloons to the back site of the strain helped it reach the destination. No changes to the train were made. The train reach the finished line without any problems. Track Three This time I didn’t add balloons. The train crashed. I did add two sets of balloons. They helped me lift the train. I finished the track. Adding two sets of balloons helped lift the train. He crossed the finish line without problems [Show More]
