Interpretation of Statutes IOS2601 Semesters 1 and 2 DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC, CONSTITUTIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL LAW

Document Content and Description Below

8 ASSESSMENT 8.1 Assessment criteria There are two compulsory assignments and one self-evaluation assignment for each semester. There is one two hour examination at the end of each semester. 8.2 A... ssessment plan Assignments are regarded as part of the learning material for this module. As you do the assignments, study the texts, consult other resources, discuss the work with fellow students or tutors or do research, you are actively engaged in learning. There are three assignments for this module: ● Assignment 01 is a written assignment. ● Assignment 02 is a multiple-choice assignment, which consists of twenty (20) questions. The answers to this assignment must be completed on a Mark Reading Sheet. ● Assignment 03 is a self-evaluation assignment Assignment 01 and 02 are compulsory and MUST be submitted on or before the DUE DATE. Assignment 03 is self-evaluation, students should not submit this assignment. PLEASE NOTE: Enquiries about assignments (e.g. whether or not the university has received your assignment or the date on which an assignment was returned to you) must be addressed to Student Assessment Administration (Examinations) at the university and not to lecturers. The compulsory assignments will count 20% towards your final mark for the module: 10% for the first assignment (Assignment 01) and 10% for the second assignment (Assignment 02). Your final mark for the module will be a combination of your marks for the assignments and your examination mark. However, in order for your assignment marks to be taken into account in calculating your final mark, you have to obtain at least 40% in the examination. If you obtain 38% or 39% in the examination and have a combined assignment mark of 15, you will not pass the module because your mark is below the 40% subminimum; therefore, your assignment marks will not be taken into account. IOS2601/101/3/2019 7 Both assignments count towards your final mark and must be submitted for assessment. Students who submit the compulsory assignments in time (i.e. on or before the respective due dates) will be admitted to the examination, regardless of the marks they obtain for the assignments. In other words, a student who submits both the compulsory assignments, but obtains 0% for them, will still be allowed to write the examination. However, such a student will not have a year mark. Students who do not submit the compulsory assignments on or before the respective due dates will not be a llo we d to write the examination. Therefore, please be sure to start and complete your assignments in good time. Don't let unexpected illness or other personal crises prevent you from being admitted to the examination. [Show More]
