Course Description: This course is designed to provide students with the tools required to perform a comprehensive physical assessment and review of a patient’s history. Students will learn inspection, auscultation, palpation and percussion techniques. Emphasis is placed upon assessment of the well person with common health problems. Health promotion and maintenance strategies are highlighted for all age groups. The course will introduce students to the nursing process, principles of infection control and safety promotion.
