The truth the real world, the school you attended world, and the NCLEX world are different. Somethings that you need to learn to pass the NCLEX may or may not be what the actual real world is doing. Below is about the NCLEX World !! Study Habits 1.Know your Anatomy and Physiology of all the organs especially the Liver, Brain, Kidney, Heart, Liver 2.Know the Pathophysiology of the disease utilizing various layers of education (ie books, videos, test questions) 1. Read the chapters 2-3 times 3.Learn to speed read the chapters the 3rd time 4.See the resources at the very last pages for resources for above 5. If you are in any accelerated program you should be studying 30-40 hours a week! Non-Accelerated 20-30 week!! 6. Don’t spend your time focusing on what the school/instructor is not doing for you, Nursing is for independent thinkers. It’s designed to get you to think and prioritize on your own. Don’t forget the school/instructor won’t be their with you when you have your own team of patients. 80- 90% of Nursing school is self taught. 7.
