Introduction
Amenorrhea is the term used to describe the lack of a menstrual period for 90 days. not
having menstrual periods can mean that your ovaries have stopped producing normal amounts of
estrogen and can have important effects on overall health. Hormonal problems, such as those

..........................................................irregular menstruation and polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). PCOS is another the most
common cause of hyperandrogenic anovulation and involves peripheral insulin resistance. She
brought her medical records with her and just had recent bloodwork done which we reviewed. I
asked her what her previous treatments have been to manage her PCOS. She told me that she
takes Ibuprofen for pain management but has not received any other treatment and that is why.......................................................................................................................

rate and reduces menstrual abnormalities (Schuiling, & Likis, 2017). She was advised that
sometimes irregular bleeding can occur at first but will even out by the third month of being on
them. The Metformin will help her utilize insulin better and might help with losing weight.
