COMPARISON OF HEALTH CARE SYSTEMS Comparison of Health Care Systems There are many countries in the world, and most of their health care systems vary significantly from each other. Apparently, so... me faces more challenges than others. Therefore, the present paper will briefly review the health care systems of selected nations, after which an indepth comparison between the US and England health care systems will be done. To start with, China is the second largest economy in the world after the US, and has a universal coverage plan whose aim is to provide safe, effective, convenient and affordable care services to its citizens (Maria, 2016). Under the universal coverage, there are three main health care schemes namely, The Urban Employees Basic Medical Insurance (UEBMI), The New Rural Cooperative Insurance (NRCM), and the Urban Residents Basic Medical Insurance (URBMI). The UEBMI is compulsory based on employment status and works in urban areas covering both private and public sector employees. The URBMI covers students in lower and upper grades not covered by UEBMI. It also covers the willing unemployed urban residents. Finally, there is the NRCM which covers the rural residents, and covers partial coverage for all kinds of medical expenses, excluding drug expenses and outpatient services (Maria, 2016). Secondly, the Japanese medical systems are basically government regulated, under the policy of the universal Public Health Insurance System (PHIS). The Japanese policy requires both the local and national government to work together in ensuring quality medical services (Matsuda, 2016).
