Basophil Basophils are in many specific inflammatory reactions, most specific those causing allergy symptoms. Basophils also contain anticoagulant heparin that helps prevent blood from clotting... to rapidly. Vasodilator histamine is also in basophils, this stimulates the blood flow to tissues. When stained the basophil is a deep blue or purple in color. Most of the time there is so many they mask or hide the nucleus from view Neutrophil This is a type of immune cell. When there is an infection this cell is one of the first to travel to start fighting. Neutrophils release enzymes that kill microorganisms as well as ingest microorganisms. This is a type of granulocyte, white blood cell and a type of phagocyte Eosinophil This is a very specific type of white blood cell.
