Question One
Platform as a service (PaaS) is one among the three categories of cloud computing
services that provides a platform. This platform allows users to run, develop, and manage web
and mobile applications and websites without the complexity of maintaining and building the
hardware and software infrastructure needed in the development and launching of an app or
website. PaaS can be delivered to the users or customer in two ways; as a private data center
software installation and as a public cloud service provider. When PaaS is provided through a
public cloud service provider the customer usual has the option of controlling the configuration
setting and the software and app deployment while the provider provides the storage, network
services, and other services to host the costumer’s application. In private data center software
installation the software deployment and configuration setting alongside all the other services
provided by the provider are managed by the provider alongside an internal IT department
representing the customer’s interests. In the case of Innovartus Technologies Inc its PaaS
Platform is best provided by a public cloud service provider so that Innovartus Technologies can
be able to control its mobile app and website features and resources to accommodate any
changes or the increased cloud consumer interaction (McGrath, 2012).

Mercurial for code management. AppFog has a command line tool and a graphical user interface
that are available for creating and managing the user’s applications. These features will be
helpful to Innovartus end-users as they design their virtual toys and give voice and gesture
commands through Innovartus’ apps and websites. AppFog also has an added advantage of
allowing administrators to delegate management privileges to others in a team thus allowing for
interactive applications. AppFog has a fair pricing structure which based on memory instead of
