PaaS can be delivered to the users or customer in two ways; as a private data center software installation and as a public cloud service provider. When PaaS is provided through a public cloud service provider the customer usual has the option of controlling the configuration setting and the software and app deployment while the provider provides the storage, network services, and other services to host the costumer’s application. In private data center software installation the software deployment and configuration setting alongside all the other services provided by the provider are managed by the provider alongside an internal IT department representing the customer’s interests. AppFog services provided include RabbitMQ, MySQL, PostgreSQL and Redis. AppFog provides third-party add-ons like Logentries for logging, Searchify for searching and Blitz for testing. AppFog is based on the open source Cloud Foundry platform and supports Git, SVN and Mercurial for code management.
