My chosen artifact is the Statue of Liberty located in the New York Harbor on Liberty Island. The Statue of Liberty is green, and she is holding a book in one hand and holds a torch up in the air. The total height of the statue from her heel to the top of her head is 111 feet, 6 inches. The statue waistline is 35 feet. The Statue of Liberty weight is 450,000 pounds. During the restoration of the Statue of Liberty that was completed in 1986, the torch was carefully covered in 24k gold. One the Crown there are seven continents, each of them measuring up to 9 feet in length and weighing as much as 150 pounds. In the statue's left hand there is a tablet that has the date July 4, 1776. The size of her table is 23' 7" tall and 13' 7" wide. Chains at the feet of the statue lie broken shackles of oppression and tyranny. There are 154 steps from the pedestal to the head of the Statue of Liberty. The exterior copper covering the statue is 3/32 of an inch thick. It is less than the thickness of two pennies.
