HUM_100_Module_Two_Short_Response.docx HUM 100 Module Two Short Response For the first project for the Perspectives in Humanities class, I am interested in the three following artifacts: The Jaguar God mask, The first Telegraph, and Tutankhamun™s sarcophagus. Early civilization has always fascinated me with the mysteries of their art and architecture. Therefore, I madeThe Jaguar God mask as an option. Because I am American, I wanted to have something from my own culture, ergo, the first Telegraph, which created an entirely new way of communicating. Tutankhamun™s sarcophagus is one of the greatest discoveries ever made in history. Over the past five years, I have studied Egyptian history with a strong passion, and that is why it made for my top three artifacts list.After careful consideration, I have selected Tutankhamun™s sarcophagus because I have background knowledge of Egyptian history. Yet, I have not conducted in-depth research on the sarcophagus itself. œThe outer two coffins were crafted in wood and covered in gold along with many semiprecious stones¦ The inner coffin, however, was made of solid gold, according to smarthistory.org. To truly experience this artifact, you must first understand who Tutankhamun was, how this discovery created a better understanding of what Egyptians believed, and how the Egyptians treated the royal even after death. Because of the choice of medium, gold and gems, it impacts your experience observing the artifact by creating a feeling of respect and honor.
