The re... ason for this is being able to stream media, offer video demand online, and also by offering DVD to the customers through mail in the past. The company has been grown even larger today by extending their services to the film industry, online distribution, and the television production. Through this, Netflix has been able to subvert into the market efficiently due to its distinctive business model. Nevertheless, despite all of the popularity and success today, Netflix is what it is due to its leader and associates that made the company grow substantially. Netflix was founded by Reed Hastings and Marc Randolph on August 29th, 1997. Both Hastings and Randolph were former employees at Pure Software and wanted to create a system of streaming and watching DVDs without customers’ having the hassle of late fees and something that would work more efficient for each and every individual (Netflix Fact Sheet, n.d.). The rise of Netflix has really influenced how individuals watch TV and movies. The organization has made it easier and efficient for people to watch their favorite TV show or movie as they please. The organization and leaders of Netflix provide a wellorganized, focused-driven, and ambitious team that has made Netflix what it is. Today, Netflix has a total of 23 million subscribers and is growing drastically each and every day (Netflix Fact Sheet, n.d.). Organizational Structure The leadership style of Netflix follows the objectives of a functional organizational structure; in which each team is accountable for precise functions, which results in dividing the organization into smaller groups. Hastings has direct control over each division and has selected separate managers in charge of each department.
