Both Tom and the company/maintenance staff decided that training was unnecessary because everyone knew tom. They all played pranks but he had troubles with his moods, because he could not distinguish serious from silly - Bob, another maintenance worker, told Frank, the lead technician, to assign Tom to a new task.
