It is worth ... noting that the white blood cells are the major elements of the immune system. Most of the elements of the immune system are produced in the bone marrow and undergo conditioning and enhancements before being released to fight antigens and other toxins in the body. It is worth noting that the human body system has at least five different types of white blood cells (Nicholson, 2016). What is fascinating about the classification of the white blood cells is the fact that they can be categorized into many other groups depending with the proteins manifesting in them. The protein components that differentiate the various white blood cells usually manifest on the cell membranes of the cells. One of the protein types on the membrane of white blood cells is receptors, which help the cells during interaction and communication with one another (Yatim & Lakkis, 2015).
