ASSIGNMENT TITLE HERE
Classroom management includes organization, allocation, and coordination of time,
space, and students’ attention. It is essential to develop a personal philosophy of classroom
management that promotes human flourishing. My philosophy of classroom management will
continue to change and develop over time as I grow as an educator. Having a good classroom
management plan has many benefits, and is shaped by the experiences that I have regarding the
classroom.
My philosophy on classroom management is that all students should be treated with
justice, and it is most beneficial to the students when they can learn from their mistakes. The goal
of my philosophy is to ensure that students are being educated not only in their subject areas but
behaviorally as well. When coming up with my philosophy on classroom management, I must
look at the role I envision for the students, the role I envision for the teacher, and my personal
beliefs on classroom management as said by Cox. (Cox, J, n.d.). To manage the classroom
actively and equitably, I would make sure that I am walking around the classroom and I am
observing what is going on. This will reduce the amount of distractions for both the teacher and
the students. I will also be sure to give every student an opportunity to be heard. This will allow
students the opportunity to be actively engaged in their classwork. Another way that I can create
engagement in the classroom is by giving incentives to the students. Giving incentives to the
students will make them more likely to give their best effort with their classwork, with their
teachers, and even with their peers. To motivate students to continue to excel in class, I would be
sure to communicate with the parents not only when the students are not doing well but also
when they are doing well. Students need to feel appreciated in the classroom.
There are a multitude of benefits to having effective classroom management.
