Since time immemorial, drug and alcohol abuse has been a menace that has affected the entire world. No gender is left Scott free. You will find adults, the elderly, and more so the younger generatio ... n, even teenagers hooked to drugs and alcohol as if it is a means of daily bread that they just cannot survive without it. The prevalence of drug and alcohol abuse among youths is most prevalent, and by each day, the numbers just keep on increasing at an alarming rate. Rehabilitation centers have become the new booming business and order of the day just to try and keep our children from drowning in addiction. The sad truth of the matter is that drug and alcohol abuse affects not only an individual but also affects the family, community, and the country. This research paper is, therefore, going to take an in-depth analysis of the problem, its causes, effects, treatment remedies, and recommendation to be implemented to curb the addiction.
