Chinua Achebe’s book is worth reading since it is an eye opener of those who are stereotypical about the continent. However, many people believe that the story was written in response to The Heart of Darkness. The reason behind this perspective is that the layer novel is written in a manner that Africa is viewed in a darker light compared to the previous s story. The aspects, therefore, come with both differences and similarities when presenting about the face of Africa. When we take into account that it’s true Chinua Achebe novel, Things Fall Apart was written in response to The Heart of Darkness, then the two books present more differences than similarities especially when analyzed form the author's points of view. Additionally, observing the differences as well as perceptions towards the manner of treating Africans. People of Africa have been portrayed in the novel by Conrad as savages who are considered to have no language. He refers to their language as grunts and with the same occupations other than merging into the abhorrent forest or developing out of it, basically to torment Marlow.
