Both the obsessions and the compulsions are excessive enough that they interfere with functioning. Evidence-based treatment of OCD consists of medications and psychotherapy targeting the futility of compulsions and learning to tolerate obsessions (cognitive behavioral therapy and exposure and response prevention). HPI Clients name is G.I, a 50-year-old Caucasian male who visited Ziks health care clinic for an initial psychiatric evaluation. Patients complaint “My OCD is getting worse “. Patient reported having a recurrent thought that is also persistent and impulsive, causing her a high level of distress and anxiety.
