Bowlby ... was attempting to understand the intense distress experienced by infants who had been separated from their parents. Bowlby observed that separated infants would go to extraordinary lengths (e.g., crying, clinging, frantically searching) to prevent separation from their parents or to reestablish proximity to a missing parent (Fraley,n.d). Bowlby postulated that these attachment behaviors, such as crying and searching, were adaptive responses to separation from a primary attachment figure--someone who provides support, protection, and care (Fraley, n.d). One problem in the Case Study involving Tiffani Bradley is that she noticed changes in her family 8 years ago. Tiffany recalls that the family was doing well but the changes that occurred between the adults were their behavior. The behavior went from abusing drugs and the house not being clean. Due to the family not taking care of the home or Tiffani and her sister, Tiffani took on the adult role at a young age thinking she could help her mother get back to the woman she used to be. Tiffani didnt have a good relationship with her parents or family and that caused her to run away. When Tiffani ran away she was found by Donald, a pimp who took care of her. Tiffani then became attached to Donald and found the love and care she thought she needed.
