Benchmark-Due Process Case Study Stephen is an autistic seven-year-old who is in an inclusive first grade class. Even though Stephen seems to enjoy his classroom he has recently began engaging in hurtful behaviors such as pinching and biting. A behavior analyst was done and determined that these new behaviors are an attempt to seek attention. A meeting with the Child Study Team will be held to discuss possible placement options. This paper will address the ethical dilemma regarding Stephens services, the possibility of a paraeducator, tutor, or volunteer. The importance of confidentiality, and finally the foundational knowledge of the IEP process and related issues. Ethical Dilemma Ethical dilemma is when there is a difficult decision to be made and neither will resolve the situation in a manner that will completely meet ethical guidelines. Stephens general education teacher, Ms. Gonzales has been recording the frequency in which Stephen acts out. However, she had not been consistent in this because she is the only adult in the classroom and has other students that have behavior needs.
