The development of normal social behavior, both prosocial behavior (e.g. cooperation) and negative (e.g. aggressive) behavior. Psychosocial development involves changes not only in childrens overt behavior, but also in their social cognition. For example, they become able to take the perspective of others and to understand that other peoples behavior is based on the knowledge and desires (APA Dictionary of Psychology, 2007).†“A developmental stage is a period of life that is characterized by a specific underlying organization. At every stage, some characteristics differentiate that state from the preceding and succeeding stages (Newman, B. & Newman, P. (2015).†In other words, the accomplishment that was successfully achieved in one stage, will provide a foundation for the next stage. According to Erikson, there are 8 stages of development: 1.
