As of right now the federal minimum wage is set at $7.25 per hour. It has been set at this amount since 2009 and has desperately needed to be increase because while the minimum wage has stayed the same living cost, and things like consumer goods and services has slowly been increasing steadily. As of right now the Biden administration is wanting to put in place a law that will raise the federal minimum wage to $15 per hour to help bring many people that work minimum wage jobs above the poverty line and bring up the standard of living.
