Within Williams community and student body, a lot of the students suffer from clinically diagnosed depression and anxiety. The added stresses of things such as school performance and peer pressure just make their symptoms of depression and anxiety worse. Physical symptoms include things like fatigue, trouble concentrating, feeling nervous, increased heart rate, and agitation, just to name a few. His school, sadly, has also had kids which have committed suicide. A1b. Williams high school has multiple student counselors that the children can go to whenever needed. These counselors are used quite often by some students and have training on what to watch for if a student may need extra help from a medical professional. They also have pamphlets in their offices on things like positive daily habits and coping mechanisms for stress to help the students learn positive ways of dealing with what they are going through. The counselors personally coach students by demonstrating and explaining exercises to help them cope with the stress. The students find it calming having a private room to speak with these professionals in about personal struggles they are facing.
