JOT2_Task1.docx JOT2 Communication Skills for ASD Children Assessment Code: JOT2 Task 1 Instructional Setting and Content Area The academic year 2020-2021 will be my first full year of running the autism program at South Mesa Elementary School in Pueblo, CO, after having filled in for part of the previous school year. This is the 5th year the program has been in place and the 2nd year that the program will be located with other classrooms inside the school building. For the first three years, the class was located inside a temporary structure outside the school. Because of this, the students were isolated from the rest of the school. The six children in the autism program range from 6 to 11 years of age. The severity of their condition varies from moderate to severe.
